“You don’t feel no way, on purpose/ I’m messing up all of Drake’s words on purpose,” the Chicago rapper sang. Their rendition sounded more heartfelt than Drake’s petty lyrics (“There’s more to life than sleeping in / and getting high with you”) would suggest, despite how Chance forgot some of the words. His first order of business: covering Drake‘s “Feel No Ways.” By singing extra softly, and omitting the original’s percussive beat, Chance the Rapper -while backed by Donnie Trumpet and select members of the Social Experiment - turned this VIEWS ballad into a true slow jam. Chance the Rapper honored two of his peers while performing at BBC Live Lounge.
